Lightroom Graduated Filters

(The Lightroom video tutorial in this post is just under the introductory text below. The working files for this Lightroom video tutorial can be found just above the video.)

The Graduated Filter Tool is an extremely powerful tool in Lightroom. The most common usage for the Graduated Filter Tool is to correct areas of your image where the exposure is not even. For example, reducing the brightness of the sky while increasing the brightness of the ground; or perhaps fixing a group portrait where the flash lighting is brighter on one side than the other.

However, Lightroom’s Graduated Filter Tool is also an extremely powerful artistic tool which we will show you guys in later tutorials.

For now, let’s get to this Lightroom video tutorial where we will teach you the basics of the Graduated Filter Tool, and show you guys how to make simple adjustments to even out the overall exposure of your images.

Enjoy!
